​​Q1: What services do professional packing companies offer?

​

A: Professional packing companies offer full-service packing services and partial packing services. Full-service packing will include your moving company providing all materials and packing all non-furniture items in cartons for safe transport to destination. Once a full-service pack is complete your shipment is ready for the loading crew to arrive. Partial packing service includes your moving company providing materials for and packing only the items requested during your walk through with your relocation consultant. You will be responsible for properly boxing the remaining items for safe transport prior to the loading crew’s arrival with partial pack. There is also a packed by owner (PBO) option where you the shipper pack all items for safe transport prior to the loading crew’s arrival.

Q2: How much does it cost to hire professional packers?
 

A: Every home is different, and costs vary based on the size of the move, the amount of packing needed, and the level of service. Contact Lanigan Worldwide Moving for a free in-home estimate and a guaranteed price estimate for your moving needs.

Q3: Are professional packers insured?
 

A: Yes, reputable packing/moving companies carry insurance (valuation coverage) to protect your belongings that are packed by the moving company. Make sure your estimate includes valuation coverage as it is required by law to be included on estimates. Lanigan Worldwide Moving is insured for packing and moving!

Q4: Do professional packers provide packing materials?
 

A: Professional packers should supply all necessary materials, including boxes, bubble wrap, packing paper, and tape included in the service price. Lanigan Worldwide Moving packing estimates include all packing materials (cartons, paper, tape, etc..) required to prepare your belongings for safe transit to destination.

Q5: How long does the packing process take?
 

A: Packing time depends on the size of your home and the volume of belongings. For an average 3-bedroom home, it may take 1–2 days. For a 1-bedroom apartment, it could possibly be packed and loaded the same day. Your move consultant will advise you of the appropriate amount of days need to complete services upon completion of your estimate.

Q6: Can professional packers handle fragile or valuable items?

 

A: Yes, professional packers are trained to pack delicate items like glassware, artwork, electronics, and antiques safely using specialized techniques and materials.

 

Q7: Do professional packing companies also unpack at the new location?

 

A: Many companies offer unpacking services at destination to help you settle in quickly. There is an additional charge for this service so be sure to let your move consultant know you are interested in this service.

Q8: How do I prepare for professional packers?

 

A: Declutter beforehand, label any items you want to pack yourself, and communicate any special instructions you with the packing team.

 

Q9: Is it better to hire professional packers or pack myself?

 

A: Hiring professionals saves time, reduces stress, and helps prevent damage, especially if you have fragile or valuable items. DIY packing might save money, but can be stressful, and is often a much bigger job than anticipated by our customers.

Q10: When should I book professional packing services?

​

A: It’s best to book at least 3–4 weeks in advance, especially during peak moving season (May – August), to ensure availability.
